Blank Thanks Committee, Sets Plan for Naming President
Don Blank, Chairman of the University of Nebraska Board of Regents today congratulated the search committee which has released the names of finalists for the position of president of the university. “I want to congratulate the members of the committee for all their hard work over the past several months,” Blank said. “I am extremely pleased with the slate of finalists they have presented for consideration by the Board of Regents. It will be a challenge to pick one person from this outstanding list to be the next university president.”

Blank said the regents will set to work immediately to hold interviews and campus visits for each finalist. “We plan to begin interviews the week of May 10, and we hope to name the new president by June 1,” Blank said.

Earlier this week Blank announced that each finalist will be invited for a two-day visit that will include formal interviews with the regents, tours of the four university campuses, meetings with the chancellors, receptions for faculty, staff and students, and news conferences. Each finalist also will meet with community leaders in Omaha, Lincoln, and Kearney.
