Elected to the Board of Regents 2014
Krupa Savalia, a first generation American, was born and raised in New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2006, graduating with distinction. After graduation, Krupa returned to the east coast to work in rehabilitation engineering and clinical research laboratories of the Kessler Foundation Research Center. That experience piqued her interests in pursuing a career that bridges the gap between patient care and scientific innovation.
Krupa received her Ph.D. in Cellular & Integrative Physiology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2014. Her dissertation project focused on the development of a nanoformulated and stable antioxidant complex as an alternative therapeutic strategy for the treatment of hypertension. She is currently completing the final two years of her medical school training at UNMC and will graduate in May 2016.
