Overcoming obstacles to make music

Dr. David Nabb performed as a professional musician, traveling throughout the United States and Europe–until a stroke completely paralyzed his left side. Undeterred, he worked with Stelling Brass & Winds to develop a saxophone that can be played with only the right hand, and today, uses the unique instrument to teach as well as perform.
With the assistance of the Yamaha company, the two eventually came up with a custom “toggle key” that allows Nabb to play. He returned to the stage with three students in early November and stunned the crowd at the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.
