The day will begin with a community breakfast highlighted by comments from Gov. Dave Heineman and University President James B. Milliken, followed by morning panel presentations featuring Fremont community leaders who will discuss education and economic development issues.

The brief afternoon BOR meeting will deal with approval of the purchase of a low-temperature scanning tunneling microscope for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The microscope will be the key instrument in the Department of Physics and Astronomy for continuing research into the structure, electronic properties and magnetism of nanostructures.

The day’s events and activities will take place at the Midland Lutheran College Event Center, 900 North Clarkson, Fremont.
