NU Board of Regents to Consider Final Approval of Contract
(Lincoln, Neb. Oct. 19)— The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will convene on Friday, October 21, at 1:00 p.m. via videoconference from four locations around the state—Lincoln, Omaha, Kearney, and West Point.

Regents will consider approval of a Master Agreement with the Ak-Sar-Ben Future Trust (AFT) relating to several real estate transactions affecting the development of the south campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). The Regents approved a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding with AFT at their September 16 board meeting, and directed that negotiations be undertaken to secure a binding definitive agreement.

The university intends to use the property it hopes to acquire from AFT for academic buildings, athletic facilities, student housing and parking.

Immediately following the meeting on the AFT contract, the Business Affairs Committee will convene, also via videoconference, to discuss housing at UNO.

The agenda item and supporting materials for the board meeting are available on the university’s web site, www.nebraska.edu.
