Media Advisory: Board of Regents meeting public comment period, Nov. 20, 2009
- 11/19/2009
It is not required to call in advance to indicate intent to address an item on the agenda; however, advance notice would be helpful for this meeting due to the number of speakers anticipated. Individuals who appear at the meeting without prior notice may or may not have time to address the Board. (Anyone wishing to address the board on a matter that is not on the agenda must call at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.)
Prioritization of speakers regarding stem cell research: First priority will be given to individuals who registered to speak at the October 23 meeting regarding embryonic stem cell research but were unable to make their presentation due to time constraints. These individuals have already been contacted. The standing rule of the Board allowing the Chair to "prohibit multiple appearances by persons presenting needlessly repetitious or redundant testimony” will be enforced. Individuals wishing to have copies of their testimony or other materials distributed to the board should bring 12 copies of the material.
Media space: The same space will be provided at the Board meeting for news media representatives as was provided at the October meeting: a second mult box is available on the north side of the room and space will be set aside there for television cameras; the regular media desks will be available on the south side of the room.
Reminder: Bus Tour of Innovation Campus, 8:30 a.m. -- if you plan to attend and have not already RSVP'd, please do so to Sharon Stephan, 472 7554 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Thank you.
