President Milliken hosts annual Student Leaders DinnerPresident Milliken hosts annual Student Leaders Dinner
University of Nebraska President James B. Milliken and his wife, Nana Smith, hosted the seventh annual Student Leaders Dinner on Oct. 10, 2010. More than 130 students from the university's four campuses joined Milliken and other NU faculty and staff for dinner and conversation.
"One of the best parts of my job as president is getting to interact with our students – the future leaders of Nebraska," Milliken said. "These students have shown exceptional leadership and scholastic abilities during their college careers, and I know they have bright futures ahead of them."
Student leaders were identified by their respective campuses. Those attending the dinner included undergraduate and graduate students, student government representatives, scholarship winners, leaders of campus organizations focused on diversity, and many others. Students came from a wide range of academic interests, including medicine, education, journalism, engineering, law, business and nursing.
All of the students had one thing in common – their exemplary leadership skills.
"I'm proud to have such great ambassadors for the university and the state on our campuses," Milliken said.
