2009 Nebraska Summit on Entrepreneurship
Nearly 400 educators, business leaders, government officials, entrepreneurs and small business owners from across the state gathered at The Cornhusker Marriott in Lincoln for the third annual Nebraska Summit on Entrepreneurship February 27. The event was co-sponsored by the University of Nebraska, the Gallup Organization and the Nebraska Business-Higher Education Forum. This year’s luncheon keynote speaker was Kimberly Loui, assistant vice president and executive director of university initiatives at Arizona State University. Loui is the principal investigator for a multi-million dollar grant from the Kauffman Foundation for cross-campus entrepreneurship. She also led the start-up of ASU’s Stardust Center for Affordable Homes and the Family and is a founding board member of University Public Schools, Inc. Loui spoke on The University as Entrepreneur.
The summit featured three major tracks which addressed timely issues facing entrepreneurs, business leaders and educators today. Panelists included Nebraska business owners, university faculty, venture capitalists, economic development experts and others.
