The University of Nebraska, as well as individual campuses, presents a range of awards celebrating students, faculty, individuals and businesses that honor the entrepreneurial spirit throughout the state of Nebraska.

Innovation, Development, and Entrepreneurship Award (IDEA): The University of Nebraska honors faculty members who have extended their academic expertise beyond the boundaries of the university in ways that have enriched the broader community; who have worked with citizens, businesses, government and non-profit organizations, other educational institutions, communities, or regions to develop new ideas, projects, technologies, events, or businesses that resulted in new development that strengthened the region or community economically, culturally, environmentally or governmentally. Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship: Nebraska Entrepreneurs of the Year, part of the New Ventures World Competition, the NCE hosts an awards dinner to recognize Nebraska Entrepreneurs of the Year. Contact: http://www.entrepreneurship.unl.edu.eoy.

Peter Kiewit Student Entrepreneurial Award: The University of Nebraska honors students who have directed their energies, ideas, and talents toward community and business improvements with the creative and innovative use of information technology. Walter Scott Entrepreneurial Business Award: The University of Nebraska honors companies with a presence in Nebraska that create innovative opportunities for students, create partnerships that enable the university to develop the skills needed to meet the technology demands of Nebraska businesses, and assist the university in building a strong entrepreneurial community.
