Frances BeaurivageInterpreter Coordinator
Office of Services for Students with Disabilities
UNL
Frances is responsible for arranging for interpreters for about 10 courses each semester. She and her staff also interpret speeches, presentations, and plays throughout the year. The work takes a great deal of skill and concentration. The ability to use the appropriate signs to translate English into American Sign Language requires analyzing for semantics, as well as an understanding of the students' needs. Frances points out, however, that the opportunity to assist students and to help them grow academically, makes the effort worthwhile.
Frances is a consummate professional and has earned the respect of students, faculty and staff. She is a tremendous asset to the University.
