This KUDOS award honors William Murphy, the Head Athletic Trainer at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Bill is responsible for the prevention, care, treatment and rehabilitation of more than 400 student athletes who participate in 16 sports.
In addition to his duties as Head Athletic Trainer, Bill assisted in the development of UNK’s Athletic Training Curriculum Program and teaches clinical level courses to seniors in the program. He also teaches a sports injury class. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the District 5 Mid America Athletic Trainer Association and the Nebraska State Athletic Trainers Association, and serves as chair of the College/University Committee at the District 5 level. Beyond the campus, Bill is a frequent guest speaker on various sports medicine topics at local and state forums.
His dedication and professionalism are obvious and he has earned the respect of student athletes and colleagues alike.
