Charles van RossumCharles van Rossum
Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
If you should ever have the opportunity to walk across the UNL campus with Chuck, you’d better not be in a big hurry, because he will be stopped by many students, staff, and faculty members as he moves along, to exchange cheerful greetings and catch up of the latest events in people’s lives. He is, in fact, so approachable that people use words like "supportive," "caring," and "awesome" to describe his contributions to life on the campus.
During Spring Break each year, Chuck devotes himself to motivating and developing student leaders through the UNL "Leadershape" Program. He addresses such issues as inclusion, mattering, involvement, academic success, and persistence - all of which he has researched thoroughly.
In addition to his regular duties, he teaches a University Foundations class for beginning students, as well as an Introduction to Agriculture class for the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
