Robin TaylorRobin Taylor
Center for Neurovirology and Neurodegenerative Disorders
Robin did clerical work before deciding to become a stay-at-home mom and care for her own children as well as the children of several neighbors. When she decided to return to work, she joined the UNMC staff in the volunteer services office.
Four years later, when she applied for her current position, she told Sam Cohen, the chair of pathology and microbiology, that her goal was to always be two steps ahead of whomever she worked for. Sam laughed and said she’d better put on her running shoes.
It is now clear she has more than kept that pace. She manages schedules and provides critical editorial assistance in the preparation of grant applications and manuscripts. She also coordinates travel, visits, symposiums, and computer support for the Center.
Off the job, Robin coaches girls’ volleyball at Holy Cross School, tends her flower garden, reads voraciously, and plays a mean game of bridge.
