Criminal Justice Department
Geri’s duties are quite varied because Criminal Justice is a complex department, with 20 faculty members located in Omaha and Lincoln. The department has 400 undergraduate students in Lincoln and another 250 in Omaha, and there are 65 master’s degree students and 30 Ph.D. candidates in Omaha as well.
Geri’s responsibilities include working with the departmental budget, helping students register and schedule their classes, managing regular and revolving accounts, ordering supplies, helping faculty manage their grants, and staffing faculty meetings.
Geri has been on the UNO staff for 13 years, with seven of those years devoted to grants accounting before moving to Criminal Justice. Her experience in managing grants is an invaluable resource to the department. Off-the-job, Geri spends time with her five-year-old son, gardens and cross-stitches - and she has season tickets to Maverick Hockey and the College World Series.
