Tim McCashlandTim McCashland
Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Department
Tim devotes most of his time to assisting patients with liver disease and digestive system disorders while also juggling responsibilities for research, communication with referring physicians, and teaching residents and fellows.
Tim graduated from the UNMC College of Medicine in 1987 and joined the faculty in 1993. His workload is heavy - it’s not unusual for him to examine 12-16 patients in one morning. He manages the patients’ care - which may include a transplant - then follows up during their hospital stay and maintains contact with them after they return home. He says the real joy of medicine is seeing them get well.
