This KUDOS recognizes Ruth Diedrichsen, Supervisor in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She oversees laboratory activities including, repairing and maintaining equipment and evaluating, adopting or modifying procedures to fit equipment and special requirements of the program.

As the laboratory is upgraded with new equipment, Ruth seeks the training necessary to properly operate and maintain the valuable equipment entrusted to her. She then teaches others in the department who need to use the equipment.

Ruth’s careful eye for detail has saved many graduate students from embarrassing mistakes. She is also able to spot the slightest modifications in performance of the machines she maintains impeccably. It is clear Ruth takes pride in the research she is involved with and both faculty and students see her as a crucial part of the research team.
