Panhandle Research and Extension Center in Scottsbluff
The University of Nebraska Board of Regents is pleased to present a KUDOS award to Richard Gatch, Research Engineer at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center in Scottsbluff. Dick’s responsibilities are to develop and manage research programs related to agricultural machinery systems and conservation tillage. At the research center, he is sought after to lead project efforts for field tours, assembly and adjustment of field equipment for harvesting and planting. His commitment to high quality work goes beyond attention to detail and completion of an assigned project. Dick has also contributed to the “science” of the project, seeking to understand why the project is being conducted, how the results will be used, and whether there is a better way to complete it. He developed a water hauling and delivery system to water non-paved roads for field tours so the tour guests didn’t have a dusty ride. A team player who leads by example, Dick is looked to for organizational expertise to gather the right tools, assign individual tasks, and solve problems that arise. Dick is joined today by his wife Kathy. Please join me in thanking Dick for his exemplary service and commitment to excellence.
