Vicki Hamm
Administrative Director, Graduate Medical Education Program, UNMC

The Board of Regents is pleased to present a KUDOS award to Vicki Hamm, Administrative Director of the Graduate Medical Education Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Vicki has an enormous job at the Medical Center and she does it extremely well. She provides exceptional service and assistance to the house officers, and to the departmental residency coordinators and department chairs who work with her. She is an amazing woman, a dedicated employee who serves as a mentor to the residency coordinators, a cheerleader for the residents, and a program director’s best friend.

Vicki holds regular meetings with the residency coordinators to share information and see how everyone is doing. A strong and effective advocate for resident education, she is a great role model in the way she handles the daily tasks and problems. She has an astronomical fund of knowledge about graduate medical education, but even more importantly she is always there for the coordinators with words of advice and assistance. She works relentlessly toward making each residency better – with warm, welcoming support.

Program directors also have a great colleague in Vicki. Always accessible and knowledgeable, she is there to help when issues arise regarding a wide variety of residency programs, whether it involves a difficult resident – or a budget issue.

Vicki is joined today by: Robert Wigton, M.D., Associate Dean for Graduate Education at UNMC; and Mike McGlade, Senior Associate Dean for Administration and Director of Finance for the College of Medicine.

We are honored to present this KUDOS Award to Vicki Hamm for her exceptional service to the Graduate Medical Education Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
