Department of Radiation Oncology, UNMC

I am pleased to present this KUDOS award to Phil Bruch (Bruck), department administrator in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Under Phil’s leadership, this department has grown from a very basic radiation oncology practice into a program that brings national recognition to UNCM and the Eppley Cancer Institute. Phil serves patients, doctors and the UNMC community as he strives to enhance the development of clinical research initiatives and to support the educational needs of the department.

Phil contributes to an environment of learning and communication by assisting doctors in preparing seminars and presentations, grant applications and clinical protocols.

As a board-certified nuclear medicine technologist, Phil also provides educational support to the Bexxar Treatment Center at UNMC, one of only two such locations in Nebraska, and to the Antibody Labeling Facility. Without his expertise, his nominator says, the patients he serves could not have been treated at the Nebraska Medical Center. In fact, the nomination also states, that without Phil the entire department would grind to a halt!
