College of Medicine Office Associate 1, UNMC

On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOs award to Cindy Sands, Office Associate I for the College of Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Cindy is an integral part of the daily operations within the Department of Psychiatry. She manages the schedules of multiple providers with ease, and she treats all patients and their families with respect and kindness. Dr. Chris Kratochvil (krat-o-ville), Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics, says that “throughout her tireless efforts and efficiency with endless tasks, Cindy maintains a smile, a positive attitude, and a willingness to help out with anyone in the vicinity, be it a patient before her, a faculty member setting up a rotation for students, or a new patient calling who is lost trying to find the clinic.”

The clinic could not have a better “ambassador” than Cindy. As the clinic serves patients in need of psychiatric care, it is important that the first person they meet be someone who listens, has patience and is able to be kind yet set appropriate boundaries. Cindy provides excellent customer service and fosters an environment of learning, caring and respect for everyone around her.
