The Board of Regents is pleased to recognize Angela Hollman for her outstanding service to the University of Nebraska at Kearney. An employee since 2004, she serves as the Local Area Network Administrator for UNK Information Technology Services with responsibilities including support for routers, switches, firewalls, network traffic shapers, Internet access and data infrastructure for more than 8,000 data jacks. She works with architects, engineers and contractors on construction projects to plan and design data, phone and cable TV infrastructure.

Employees cannot effectively do their jobs when the network fails, and Angela and her technicians work to ensure that service is delivered consistently and reliably. In addition, she is skilled in hardware and software management and website development.

In 2007, Angela planned, designed and supervised the installation of secure wireless access in every building across the UNK campus, including all residence halls. This service is used by hundreds of students, faculty and staff on a daily basis. It is reliable and secure and, with over 800 access points distributed around campus, is manageable by a staff of three.

Congratulations, Angela. Your exemplary work and your significant contributions to the University are admired and appreciated.
