Manager of Research Finance and Analysis, UNL

The Board of Regents is pleased to present a KUDOS award to Becky Zavala (Zuh‐Vahl‐uh), Manager of Research Finance and Analysis in the Office of Research and Economic Development at the University of Nebraska‐Lincoln.

Since assuming her role in managing research finance and analysis, Becky has made the financial operations of the Office of Research more efficient and more transparent. Her work ethic is remarkable; her colleagues describe her as no‐nonsense, competent and quick. With her advanced technology skills, Becky has automated many processes and enhanced reporting for clients. She integrated sponsored funding data into a campus resource that allows campus administrators to easily view multimetric snapshots of their units' sponsored funding performance over multiple years. These resources will allow for enhanced benchmarking and improved decision‐making. Becky, who recently earned her MBA from UNL, typifies the work ethic and talent of which any organization would be proud.

Today Becky is accompanied by the following guests: her husband, Brandon; Prem Paul, Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development; and Mike Zeleny, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development.
