Administrative Associate, UNK

On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS Award to Shelly A. Fleck, Administrative Associate to the Dean of the College of Education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Shelly has been employed in her current position since 1996. Prior to that time, she worked in the Office of Student Records and Registration.

Dr. Ed Scantling, Dean of the College of Education, says that Shelly is very deserving of this recognition as she is totally committed to the College and to UNK. “She regularly takes the initiative to work with departments in the college to solve emerging problems and to recognize the good work of faculty, staff and students. Shelly is a Loper at heart, a true team player who bleeds blue and gold.”

Shelly’s responsibilities include developing and updating class schedules for the College of Education; coordinating faculty evaluations, workloads and travel records; overseeing the Dean’s Office budget as well as reviewing departmental budgets; processing accounts payable and payroll; and assisting with state and national accreditation reviews. Beyond her regular workload, Shelly is very active across the campus, serving as a member of UNK’s Employee Recognition Committee, College of Education Honors Program Committee, Advisory Council for Teacher Education, Safety Committee, Staff Senate, Identifier Committee, Wellness Task Force, and Office Service Advisory Council.
