Instructional Technologist I, UNMC

On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am pleased to present a KUDOS award to Patrick Rejda (ray‐dah), Instructional Technologist I, College of Nursing (CON), UNMC. Patrick’s job is to coordinate the technology needs of the faculty and students of the College of Nursing in Omaha, Lincoln, Kearney and Scottsbluff (and Norfolk when it opens).

Nominator/faculty member Joyce Black said, “Patrick Rejda is the lead IT person supporting the College of Nursing on multiple missions. He is fabulous to work with and is always supportive, diplomatic, and respectful of others. He carefully listens to the IT support needs of faculty and then creatively constructs solutions. He supports a number of platforms. He is excellent at troubleshooting and fixing problems. When faculty have a problem, they know they can contact Patrick and he will find a solution through an artful combination of computer skills, technical skills, and finely tuned interpersonal and communication skills. He doggedly pursues a problem until it is solved…. and keeps faculty apprised of his progress in the process.”

According to former supervisor, Cheryl Thompson, “Patrick goes above and beyond his job description not only in the deployment of technology but also in the investigation of new technologies and approaches to education. He has also assumed a leadership role in the evaluation of software.”

Patrick’s guests include his father, Ed Rejda (the first director of Information Technology Services at UNMC) and his immediate supervisor, Sarah Thompson. Please join me in thanking Patrick for his contributions to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
