David works to create a well-functioning tech operation that has expanded significantly in recent years. Beyond the standard usage of computers by faculty and students and digital presentation in classrooms, a number of programs in the college now provide immense digital environments for the production of art, music and film.
In light of these increasing tech demands, staff has expanded accordingly, and David now supervises a staff of three in the Dean’s office. More important is the way he has worked with them and led the effort to create a comprehensive operation. David’s contributions have not just kept pace with the expanding use of technology, but have also positioned the college to be a leader in tech services management. David has advised other units on campus about technology issues, and he serves on the Faculty Senate Information Technologies and Service Committee. He is committed to collaborations between the college and both the UNL and Lincoln communities.
David is accompanied today by his guests: Associate Dean, Hixson Lied College of Fine & Performing Arts, Christin Mamiya; parents, Dr. Charles & Carole Bagby; brother, Richard Bagby; and friend, Catherine Gabell. Please join me in thanking David for his dedication to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.
