The University of Nebraska’s four campuses offer a wide array of programs involving faculty,
staff and students in multi-cultural organizations, events, courses, resources and community relationships.
These include such exciting endeavors as the Virginia-Nebraska Alliance at UNMC – designed to recruit minority students into health fields, the Office of Latino and Latin American Studies at UNO,
the James E. Smith Midwest Conference on World Affairs at UNK, and the Diversity Resources office at UNL. Visit our campus diversity and equity offices for more information:

Affirmative Action
Affirmative Action/Equity & Diversity Statement
The University of Nebraska recruits and encourages individuals, regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin or religious beliefs, as faculty, students, staff and administrators at this institution. We also believe certain groups in the American experience have been historically denied and placed at significant disadvantage to pursue economic and academic opportunities, through systemic and institutional gender and racial bias. Therefore we will consider this historical and current reality – in concert with other selection criteria – when considering applicants and employees for equal employment opportunities, and our diversity and equity initiatives. In 1991, the Board of Regents established goals and strategies to enhance the recruitment and retention of women. In 1993, the Board of Regents established goals and strategies to enhance the recruitment and retention of minorities. Annual progress reports are presented to the Board by faculty and staff who comprise campus commissions on the status of women and campus diversity commissions. Campus-based initiatives provide a wealth of resources to students, faculty, staff and the community. ADA Compliance Office This email address is being protected from spambots.
